Cette exposition s'inscrit dans l'événement WE Suisse, parcours d'art contemporain à Besançon proposé
par le BRAC.

Fondé en 2006 à Lausanne par Stéphane Barbier Bouvet, Jeanne Graff, Adrien Missika et Benjamin Valenza, et rejoint en 2010 par Flora Klein, 1 m3 est un centre d'art, un espace d'exposition à géométrie variable, une résidence d'artistes, un éditeur de multiples, un atelier, un cinéma, un bar, un restaurant, une salle de bal, une agence de voyage, une banque, un éditeur, une bibliothèque, un bureau, un espace de réflexion, une expérience collective. 1 m3, comme un mouvement ne se définit pas. De fixe, il ne faudrait retenir que son noyau, Josef Hannibal, luimême étrange personnage, à demi mythologique, dont la fonction semble être en perpétuel mouvement. À Toshiba House, Hannibal se propose simplement et comme à son habitude, de mettre en conversation des formes, des objets à voir, à utiliser, et des textes dans une situation condensée.

"A metaphor of the public."
Josef Hannibal was born on Oct 2, 1968 in Gori, Georgia, ex-USSR. His family flees the USSR on a raft towards Tunisia. he grows up at Carthage, Tunisia, close to the internationnal airport of Tunis. It is by looking at each days the planes in the Tunisian sky, that it was discovered a taste for the contemporary art and the networks of communication. His father was a workman menbre of the UGTT which dies in 1978 at the time of a demonstration of trade unionist. His mother, was pacifist, taught French litterarure at the popular university of Tunis. At the beginning of the years 1980 it left Carthage for Paris. There it works as workman with a cousin, and takes part in the action unionist French in memory for his father. At the same time he is student at “l'école du Louvres” by correspondence, and at the University of Vincennes where he studied history of philosophy until 1987. He quit his studies before the end, and speaks an aproximatif English, unfortunately ...
